I have my doubts if the Nanking Massacre ever happened. Does anyone here have arguments for and against this massacre?

I believe that the massacre did happen. There is evidence of the massacre and little to no evidence against it.

Their are many people who witnessed the massacre possibly. Also, I don’t believe that something like that would be faked.

@walterba The eyewitnesses could be faked. It has been done in the past. 

Also something like this could be faked. It could give the Chinese reason to hate the Japan. It could also justify the war crimes the US and China did against Japan.

I, personally, trust logic and evidence, not anecdotes or eyewitness accounts.

The Nanking Massacre was a relatively minor event, compared to the whole array of historical records of the war crimes the Japanese army committed during World War II. Falsifying one such event would not change the status quo significantly, and there were hundreds of reasons to go on the offensive against the Japanese Empire. Even if there was no real evidence of those events (and there is plenty), I fail to see why anyone would want to falsify historical records this way.
