Dow Swings 1,000 Points, Finishes More Than 2% Higher

  • The market went up to quickly and was due for a correction.  Do you really expect Trump to say it's his fault?
  • @islander507
He said it was him that made it go up in the first place. Even though the first year of growth was below the first year of growth of Obama's presidency.

It's easier to go from an abysmal economy to a lackluster economy, as Obama did, than it is to go from a lackluster to a roaring economy, as Trump did.
  • The Fed has far, far more influence than the executive has over the economy. This is a combination of anxiety over Powell taking over + wages too high.

Under a system of perfectly free commerce, each country naturally devotes its capital and labour to such employments as are most beneficial to each. This pursuit of individual advantage is admirably connected with the universal good of the whole. By stimulating industry, by regarding ingenuity, and by using most efficaciously the peculiar powers bestowed by nature, it distributes labour most effectively and most economically.

    - David Ricardo

  • Trump may want to take credit when the DOW is up, not down. He needs a higher approval rating.
