Meh, it was inhumane of Mexico to let them in on their trek to the US.  It would be even more inhumane to give the next caravan the hope that they would also be allowed free access to the US.

It would be inhumane to let them in because of the message it would send to all those people who are currently obeying our immigration laws and going through the proper (Yet arduous) steps necessary to obtain citizenship legally. 

Imagine waiting five years to get your Wife, Children and yourself into the United States because you respect the laws of the United States and don't want to live in a Country without laws/legal justice...then you find out after waiting five years that a bunch of people just fought their way in ahead of you by ignoring the laws that you've been so patiently respecting.  It's the equivalency of the U.S. spitting in the face of those who are doing it the right way.

It's smarter to let them in but voting Trump was never about the 'smart choice', it was about the 'he's not Hillary' choice.
