Usually, when Trump says something, the best response is to ignore his words. He is well known for saying random things in order to appease various social groups.

Regarding the actual situation in Germany, from my research it seems that the crime has increased due to the refugee influx very slightly on the overall scale, but due to the general policies in Germany reducing crime rates among the general population, the net crime is slightly down.

Germany and Sweden are favorite targets of nationalists these days, because they dare to actually follow their responsibility as a part of the international community, unlike most opportunistic countries that merely use that community for their personal short-term goals - but these countries are actually doing very well stat-wise, and most Germans and Swedes are not aware that there is a "crisis" in their countries. One of my best friends is German, and she has not noticed any difference in terms of safety and quality of life. All this Muslim scare seems to be intended for the nationalists who can be swayed to vote for another populist party by scaremongering of the media they consume, and it does not seem to have much ground in facts.

As convenient as it would be to offer some anecdotal evidence to support my conclusion as if it truly served as a legitimate premise...the facts still remain that crime in Germany has seen a severe and substantial spike recently and this is relative to what it has been over the past decade.  Terms like "Severe" and "Substantial" are purely relative and based on the facts that in the previous years...there has been no such rate of crime or increase of that magnitude for that matter. 

Germany (As well as a slew of other European Countries) are finding out the hard way that unfettered access to their country by large populations of people who hail from other Countries with contradicting values that do not mix with democracy and, in some cases, human rights...is bad for Germany.

On a minor note, I have a friend of a friend who has a sister who's best friends with a guy's Mother who lived in Germany once and she didn't notice the crime wave either.  Likewise, people in Texas are seldom exposed to consequences of the bloodbath happening in Detroit or Chicago...that doesn't mean it's not happening.
