An algorithm took it down. No human saw it and decided to take it down. Once they noticed it was out back up. The same way a YouTube video talking about the Egyptian God Isis will get demonetized, and how I'm probably on a list somewhere just for writing that. It's all computers making those decisions.

Anyway, as someone who is currently working on a complex neural network, I can confidently say that neural networks make for extremely poor censors. A neural network does not understand the concept of "context", it does not understand the meaning of individual sentences and parts of sentences - it simply compares the texts it sees to the texts from its training set as raw binary data, trying to find similar patterns between them. And the similarities it does find do not always have a meaning conceivable by humans, because the machine does not parse the meaning of texts, it simply slaps two texts on top of each other and asks, "Do these letters look similar?"

Censorship is simply not something that should be done through automated algorithms at this stage of our technological evolution. The automated algorithms can help with the initial search for the candidates for censoring, but the ultimate investigation and decision should be made by a human censor. Otherwise, you never know if the message "Love, do not kill" will be interpreted as "Love do not, kill" instead and removed due to advocacy for violence.
