California Becomes First State To End Cash Bail

first I thought this was a good idea, but then someone commented how leaving it up to the judges could hurt a particular group they may have a bias for.

while this is a good idea for non-violent charges generally speaking, to do away with the whole system seems rather short sighted and not accounting for unintended consequences. Then again this is California we are talking about. Sound like a good idea the way it's going to be implemented?
