Political Forum - PoliticalForum.com users switching to Debate Island?

PoliticalForum.com is a forum covering political, social, and other issues. PoliticalForum.com is a discussion forum, not a debate website like DebateIsland.

It seems that many PoliticalForum users are abandoning the site, especially after the latest March 2017 PoliticalForum upgrade to Xenforo due to various security issues. There was no notice given to the PoliticalForum users until after the upgrade.

PoliticalForum.com is also suggesting donations for keeping up with their newly increased expenses, and as their prior users are pointing out is that worth it for a ghost of user base PoliticalForum used to have.

The new PoliticalForum site has only a fraction of prior forum users, and It seems that DebateIsland had continued spike of political debates in March.

I wonder if that is related to PoliticalForum users now debating on DebateIsland?

I had a PoliticalForum account, and didn't bother continuing post their Xenforo upgrade. In some ways

It's also possible that PoliticalForum users are switching to Reddit or Voat, as both have similar discussion format with much more functionality.

Its too bad that many legacy sites that once were the prime experience for debating and discussions are shutting to give room to the next generations of sites offering better experience.

I switched from there. It was horrible to begin with. DebateIsland.com is much better. It has a good functionality and a good design. I think that if DebateIsland advertises it self there, many users will switch too if not all of them.

Yes, I also heard that a couple switched, but a very low amount. Although, Tehy should run a campaign like they did with createdebate and debate.org. That's how I found them and many other users did find them that way too.

Yes, I switched to DebateIsland. It has somewhat better functionality, but the design is really much better.

Not meaning to necro, but it might help if their site had any functionality. I tried to join a while ago and it wouldn't even send out the verification email to multiple addresses. And of course there is no contact page and no real contact info on their WHOIS so they probably don't even know about it. After googling it seems I wasn't the only one who had that issue. So they are not even getting new people it seems like.
