in season 2 episode 6, Axe is conflicted about his bad deal with getting muni bonds when Casino location decision got reversed.  
His only option to get money back to completely devastate a small city and force thousands of people into poverty. That's a $600 million decision.
Axe reflects on hIs past being poor and get counsel from essentially everyone he knows.  Wendy and many others tells him not to do it, but Laura encourages him to go for the kill.

  • That is a defining moment for Axe and Laura - making a decision of going for the kill really dehumanizes them going forward.  Axe is also exposing himself to many political enemies and awful PR issues that will be a long-term strategic headache for him.

    He city did it to itself by borrowing beyond its means and getting greedy.  Certainly Axe is not feeling great about this situation, but it's not just money, but also that's perception with his investors, employees (and Axe ego) about a negative quarter.
    it's a really tough decision, but I say let Axe go for it..I agree with Laura on this one.
  • Excellent show, showtime.
    Axe has a blindspot - he is too egotistical and not willing to acept a temporary defeat of a bad quarter to win a war.  Bad decision.  Greedy, and unfortunately his wife didn't do him any favors either.
