What about Nontheistic Religions?
in Religion

By ZeusAres42ZeusAres42 281 Pts
I have seen quite a lot of thoughts about theistic religions here but not much about the other nontheistic religions would include:
  • Buddhism
  • Jainism
  • Confucianism
  • Taoism
  • Zen Buddhism
What I find fascinating about some of these religions is how old they are and yet some of the practices in one or more of them have been adopted in modern day by secularists including moral codes.

I have a lot of respect for these kinds of religions because there is no implication of this universal dictator that must be obeyed at all times at all costs. And the moral codes in these religious is something I can resonate with.

What are your thoughts?

The unexamined thought is not worth thinking.

"of this universal dictator that must be obeyed at all times at all costs."

Are you complaining over something that is completely voluntary to engage in?

    Meaning religion in general?

Just like its voluntary to be athiest, theist, or anti religious altogether?

I've been to a Catholic church, and all denominations church, a Protestant church, and a Baptist church.

And I haven't seen any of the anti religious individuals, with a team of lawyers, and law enforcement in tow, with a warrant demanding that a religious building be shut down, because of the very claims that you are making?

I dont know of any physicians, psychologists, or psychiatrists, who are religious doctors, that would unlikely concur with your unfounded statement?

I'll ask you to Provide some real world evidence, that your labeled Universal Dictator, has an APB out on this individual that you are expressing yourself over, like witness statements?

A link to a news conference that was held, by any US citizen, who can cooberate your Universal Dictator claims?

And that the real life FBI, CIA, or the Church itself, is looking for this individual, that you are talking about?

One step at a time here, please. I will come back to your other points after we first address this one. Firstly no I am not complaining at all. In fact, what I am actually doing is expressing my respect for other religions. Secondly, are you sure religion is completely voluntary?

FYI, I am a person that comes from a strong religious background although no longer religious.

The unexamined thought is not worth thinking.

I also have a lot of respect for those religions. I studied Confucianism, the more I learned the more I was in awe.
