Will Trump get rid of Dodd-Frank and will that help US Banking sector?
in Politics

By agsragsr 851 Pts
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday ordered reviews of major banking rules that were put in place after the 2008 financial crisis, drawing fire from Democrats who said his order lacked substance and squarely aligned him with Wall Street bankers. He previously vowed to get rid of most of the Dodd Frank rules that caused lots of regulatory work for the financial sector.
It will be interesting to see if Trump will succeed, after all he does need Congress support tomget rid of these rules. It is also interesting to see what impact it has in Financial sector.

  • So far since him taking office we had seen a clear pattern that he takes a decisive action on lots of his campaign promisses. Today's news of his ordering this review falls within that pattern. Getting rid of these rules though is bery tricky and requires Congress support. He will likely succeed with replacing eventually some or bulk of it. The big question though, what will replace it. Replacing one set of complex regulations with other may require more work for Financial Services to deal with, putting even more pressure on that sector.

  • It will definitely help.
  • Yes.
  • Interesting results so far. It looks like vast majority agree that he will change he system, but opinion is split weather the change will be helpful for Financial Services industry
