China detains dozens over funding of elevated bus project

Reports say bus may have been mostly a scam

To many people, China's futuristic road-straddling bus seemed too good to be true. Now, authorities say it may have been little more than a scam.

Beijing police said this week they have detained 32 people, including the chief executive of the company behind the project, following reports from investors of illegal fundraising.

The elevated bus could be due to China's chars environmental conditions and their community.

@walterba, i agree that such a project could make a hugh difference in China.  They alteady have elevated trains so theoretically such technology would be possible. The big question is if this particular project is a scam or is China has something else going on.

Most likely whoever organized the investment was running a scam. The technology is possible in the future, but I don't see why China would be protecting something like this. Most likely they got a wind of the scan and cracked it down

The investment wa probably organized by a scammer in that area or opersting on a domestic to international scale.

Eventually, the scam seemed to be cracked down.

@Max_Air29, yep.  There are plenty of gullible people in China, and China right now is going through an investment bubble.
