  • The ideologies of many that live on the continent are particularly concerning. There are not much conservatives, the only things dividing Europe is liberalism and the refugee crisis. I have made friends with many in Europe, and Britain in particular that actually support Trump. Trump is not the cause, the people are.

When a major trade partner starts regulating trade, the affected nations usually look for other markets to make up for the lost trade value - and for any European nation, other European nations are the natural first choice, because of how free trade between the members of European Union is and because of geographical proximity. Another consideration is that in the face of external pressure from the same source, nations tend to unite to fight against that pressure.

So, if anything, Trump's trade policies actually unite Europe. Whether it is a good thing or not for Europe is another matter. European Union is a suspect organization from the long-term perspective, and perhaps too much unity in Europe can eventually transform it into a large authoritarian state, making the federal government too strong and united for any nation to oppose its controlling policies.

There are already talks within European Union about the necessity to form a united army that could take the role in the region that the US army no longer guarantees to hold. This is something Euro-skeptics warned about decades ago, and while no one took them seriously at the time, perhaps nowadays it is time to reconsider their outlook.
  • It is the screams of fallacy that drive the mind numbed. What they know about trade you could fill a thimble with that knowledge.
