No, this is the opposite of Nixon.  In 1972, Nixon had the opposition's campaign bugged to gain an illicit advantage.  In 2016, the opposition (0bama) bugged the Trump campaign to gain an illicit advantage.

In terms of political and economical corruption, Trump likely surpasses Nixon by a large margin. Is he like Nixon as a president beyond that, however? Hardly. Nixon, while having some questionable ideas on the economy and on political freedoms, recognized that openness to the international community was one of the mast driving forces of the US economy - something Trump used to recognize as well, before he decided to play on ignorant people's fears to become electable. Trump also does not has as much congruency as Nixon did: Nixon did not try to go after every one of his critics and make derogatory comments about them, and he had the decency to resign when his political suitability was compromised - while Trump instead uses his compromised political stability to further rile up his supporters against his opponents.

Trump is a principally different type of a politician, compared to the presidents of the past. Where the presidents of the past allowed some slips when following a general presidential code for personal economical or political gain, he actively denounces the presidential code itself and acts in a way that shatters all standards anybody ever had for what a president should act like. Trump in the US is like Lenin in Russia, who comes one day and says, "Having fun? Well, we are going to start playing a new game today. The past is done with".

What was Watergate for Nixon or Clinton-Lewinski Scandal for Clinton, ending both's political careers, is "The media are conspiring against our dear leader" now. Political scandals are political fuel and entertainment now, they are not something that puts the official out of business, sadly.
