The big question for snap chat, can they extendvtheir platform further and get to a broader demographic. Many of us thought that google, amazon, favebook were also inflated at IPO - but they habe grown much more since

Snap just Announced weak earnings. I see bleak prospects for them at this point.

  • I am not optimistic about Snapchat prospects.  I like the ears you can take with their selfies, but that gets old quickly and they will struggle to evolve beyond just being a toy.

My point was proven when their IPO dropped about 18 percent recently. It was also proven once they lost approx. 2.4 billion dollars in 1 quarter. They shouldn't have gone public. One of the founders had argued with Jim Cramer, who clearly knows what he is talking about. Theyre ore like aone hit wonder than an IPO. Facebook may try to buy them out or cause a bankruptcy for them. The investors learned their lessons. The founders learned their lesson. Young investors had bought into it and that didnt work out to well for them thinking that it will be the next Facebook. That thought was completely untrue. They may become bankrupt soon if this keeps happening , because I dont believe they can keep it up. Uber and Lyft are also battling it out right now.

  • @Plequ, I completely agree. They made an app for kids, and prematurely went to the big boys market by going public.  They have poor prospects as far as I can see.

They aren't worth that amount or anything close to it. It's probably a temporary thing, not long term at all. They need to be bought by Facebook.

  • @spandam, I agree that their prospects are not great.  It would be interesting what FB-Snap would look like and if Google would get concerned
