I am not supportive of government turning our healthcare into some sort of socialist healthcare.  While I believe that Obamacare plan is dysfunctional and I am disappointed that GOP plan didn't pass on friday, I am against medicare for all plan.

That would be a great bill, although hard to pass. Also, love this website and the casual debate style, like no other.

Consider this - it takes the entire working population of the United States to fund Medicare for the limited number of people who can use it's benefits today.

Medicare for all might make a good sound bite, but there are clearly some serious financial realities that need to be addressed.

I agree with @MattInFla . Medicare for all really would be great, but possibly impossible in the financial aspect.

Every governmental intervention into the healthcare industry so far has been a disaster, especially the ACA which was the closest the US has come to the "universal healthcare" system in its history. Americans simply do not want to surrender the control over their health to the government. Sanders does not understand that the US society is very different from the French society he praises so much, and what works in France with its overgrown government and somewhat collectivist society, would not get far here.

Then again, Sanders does not understand economics in general.

@MattInFla however if it was Medicare for all we would have an entire country negotiating their drug prices, leasing to significantly lower costs for the same treatment now. However my unpopular opinion is no one should get healthcare. Let nature and evolution work their magic.
